# Wasp 10' Drone

### Initial setup

The wasp comes preconfigured with Ardupilot / PX4, with a custom tuned parameter file for optimal operation. \
It uses standard communications so you can simply connect it to your favorite ground control software such as Mission Planner or QGC via UDP.

In order to connect to the drone, first you have to define your ground station's IP as **192.168.168.30**

Now power up your **ground communication module** using the XT60 connector\
(Recommended 12v 2A supply) and connect it to your ground station computer via the ethernet port.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Make sure the propellers are not on the drone unless you're ready to fly!
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
Make sure your ground station is assembled with antennas before powering on! **powering up without antennas will damage your ground station!**
{% endhint %}

Ensure that the communication is working by pinging the ground comms:

```bash
ping 192.168.168.31
```

{% hint style="info" %}
The Microhard communication module takes around 30 seconds to boot up.
{% endhint %}

After you ensure that the communication is working with the ground module, you can power up your drone (make sure that you have the correct antennas on your drone!) with the provided 6s battery.

Now you should be able to connect to the drone using Mission Planner / QGC via UDP at port **14550**

**The default IP configuration for the setup is:**

| Module                               | IP             |
| ------------------------------------ | -------------- |
| **GCS (Your computer)**              | 192.168.168.30 |
| **Ground communication module**      | 192.168.168.31 |
| **Air communication module (drone)** | 192.168.168.32 |
| **Helios onboard computer**          | 192.168.168.33 |

**Telemetry and video ports**

| Data type | Port                               |
| --------- | ---------------------------------- |
| Telemetry | 14550                              |
| Video     | 8554 (rtsp\://127.0.0.1:8554/cam1) |

{% hint style="info" %}
Video is not enabled by default, enable it by following the [streaming guide](/documentation/software-and-getting-started/basic-streaming-guide.md)
{% endhint %}
