# SkyPulse Komodo 4in1 ESC

NDAA Compliant, high performance 4-in-1 ESC, supporting AM32, with up to 8s voltage input.

### Introduction

The **SkyPulse Komodo** is a 4-in-1 ESC built for demanding multirotor / robotics applications where reliability and performance are critical.\
Designed for **6S–8S** battery systems and rated for continuous loads up to **70A (for each motor)**, the Komodo delivers the power and reliability serious builds require, while still keeping the low SWaP-C which is critical in every platform.

Running on the open-source **AM32** firmware, the Komodo enables advanced features such as accurate current and voltage telemetry, itemperature monitoring, locking connectors, and an integrated Remote Power Enable high-side switch.

Standard mounting compatibility means it drops into your existing frame with no surprises.

Just like the rest of our hardware, the Komodo was designed with high volume manufacturing reliablity and NDAA compliance in mind.

#### Wiring & Initial connection guidelines

* **Main Power Input:** Due to the extreme current ratings, it is highly recommended to use high-quality, flexible silicone wires of at least 10AWG or 12AWG for the main voltage input pads. Ensure you use a good quality soldering iron with a large tip to achieve perfect solder joints and prevent "cold joints" on the power pads.
* **Motor Phase Wiring:** Use 14AWG or 16AWG wires to connect the brushless motor phases to the side pads (`M1` through `M4`).
* **First Power Up:** Before connecting a fully charged 6S/8S LiPo battery for the first time, perform a continuity check between the main input power pads to rule out hard shorts. For the first power-up, use a current-limited lab bench power supply (e.g., set to 1A) or a "Smoke Stopper" tool. This ensures there are no wiring defects.

### **J1 – Main Data connector**

This is the main data connector that goes to your flight stack / controller.

The interface connector includes the motor signals, telemetry and control signal for the switched power output.

This connector is a 10-pin locking connector from the PicoClasp series by Molex, also used in the Helios FMU.

### **J3 - Remote Power Enable**

The Komodo ESC features a **Remote Power Enable** option, and acts like a High-side switch.\
this means that you can turn your whole system (for example communications, flight stack, etc), using only one signal pin from an external source.

This could be useful in cases such as Drone-In-A-Box, remote power on, sleep mode, etc...

When pulling **pin 7** low (ground) in the main Data connector, the output will be off, and when pulling it high / leaving it floating, the power output will be enabled.

{% hint style="warning" %}
The output voltage of this connector is unregulated, which means that the output is the battery voltage.
{% endhint %}
